DIRECTIONS FOR USING THE ROCKBITER III STONE CHISELING TOOL.
A. Stone Preparation.
1. Add ¾” to 1” to edge when cutting the pieces to size, insuring that you have enough material to “nip” off.
2. Depending on how hard the material is: You may have to score the stone at the desired breaking point. Example, materials such as Verde Fire and Black Absolute will have to be scored top and bottom. Materials such as sandstone, marble or limestone will probably not have to be. Always do a test piece first until you are familiar with how each stone will chisel.
3. Inside corners: Using a grinder with a diamond blade held vertically, cut at a 45 degree angle into the corner to the desired break point.
B. Prior to using the Rockbiter III.
1. Equalize the pressure on the pump by opening the relief valve (located on the pump) for 3 seconds, then closing the valve.
2. Always clean & lubricate the Rockbiter III before using.
3. Check hydraulic fluid level.
4. Specs and additional information on the pump is available on the Enerpac web site
C. Tips and Trouble shooting.
1. The Rockbiter III has two switches. The switch on the pump has to be set to the on position and then the rocker switch on the tool will work.
2. The Rockbiter III takes a few hours of break in time. If the jaws don’t open fully after use, make sure the pressure in the hydraulic tank is equalized and the tool is clean and lubed. You may still have to help the jaws open all the way by squeezing the hinged part of the jaws together. As the tool breaks in you will have to do this less and less.
